Trump makes new threats against Iran

Trump makes new threats against Iran

US President Donald Trump has released a new threatening statement to Iran, just hours after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an apology for previous strikes on Gulf countries.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump claimed that Iran “will be hit very hard” today.

Trump argued that Tehran had only apologized and “surrendered” to its Middle East neighbors “because of the relentless US and Israeli attack.” The death toll from US-Israeli bombing in Iran has now risen to at least 1,332 people, according to the country’s authorities. At least 168 of those killed are children from the Minab girls’ school.

In a recorded message published early on Saturday, Pezeshkian said that Iran’s interim leadership council had approved stopping attacks on neighboring countries – unless an attack on Iran originated from there. “We have no intention to invade neighboring countries. As I have repeatedly said, they are our brothers,” Pezeshkian stressed.

His speech was followed by an IRGC statement warning that all US-Israel military bases and interests will be considered “primary targets” if attacks on Iran continue.

Pezeshkian earlier said Iran would never capitulate after Trump demanded “unconditional surrender.” The war launched by the US and Israel is now in its second week with no signs of slowing down.
