At least 17 policemen killed in Ankara helicopter attack – reports

At least 17 policemen have been killed in attack on Golbasi Special Operations headquarters in Ankara as the helicopter fired on their positions, Anadolu Agency reported.

Security services have arrested 13 people, including three officers after their attempt to take over the presidential palace failed, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Turkish Parliament has scheduled an emergency meeting on Saturday to address the attempted coup, Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman said.

Meanwhile, police arrested four soldiers who tried to storm the building of state-television TRT in Istanbul, Anadolu Agency said.
