Interview with Vitaly Yermakov

President Putin and Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi have given their blessing to the South Stream pipeline project. Vitaly Yermakov, from Cambridge Energy Research Associates, discussed the new gas route with RT.

“In a commercial sense, additional inflows of gas in Europe, is a good thing. But recently the European Commission has been trying to push on the agenda the diversification of the sources of supply. And in this sense of course the politicians might be concerned. More Russian gas coming to Europe, rather then gas from alternative sources,” Yermakov said.
