Police are dumbfounded after discovering a third human foot in the sleepy English city of Bath near to where two other feet were found on separate occasions earlier this year.

The severed appendage was discovered in a residential garden and is the third to be found within a 300-meter area in the past six months.

Police were called to the property on Cranwells Park at 2.30pm on Wednesday and have since sent the foot away for forensic analysis.

A spokesman for the Avon and Somerset Constabulary said they are “keeping an open mind” as to whether it was linked to two other feet discovered in the city.

The first foot was found in Wenton Park East in February, while the second was discovered in the garden of a property near the park in July.

All three feet were located about a quarter of a mile from Bath’s Royal United Hospital.

Forensic tests showed the first foot was probably an anatomical specimen used for educational purposes. Police anticipate the second foot to be of a similar origin.

The same officers are looking into the latest discoveries and will look to confirm beyond all reasonable doubt that they are linked and if there are any new lines of inquiry which can be taken forward,” a spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said.
