Batman fans can now safely visit the actual waterfall that concealed the DC Comic hero’s secret ‘Batcave’ headquarters.
A trail leading to a huge waterfall in Wales, which features in the recent movie franchise as the entrance to the Batcave, has now been completed, allowing fans to visit the site safely.
South Wales’ tallest waterfall, Henrhyd Falls, was used in the 2012 blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.
Since then, Henrhyd Falls in the Brecon Beacons National Park has become a popular destination for movie buffs.
Fans can even walk behind the 88-foot (27-meter) waterfall.
In order to accommodate more visitors without risking damage to the unique environment, a series of steps – including a 40-meter boardwalk – are among several changes at the Nant Llech Trail that leads walkers through the falls.
Judith Harvey, warden manager for Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, said “There has been a steady increase in visitors to the Nant Llech Trail and Henrhyd waterfall, making it a popular walking destination in the Brecon Beacons.
“With work now complete, it means that people for many generations to come can really enjoy what Abercraf and the surrounding area has to offer, safe in the knowledge that they are not causing any damage.”
Hundreds of locations worldwide have enjoyed surges in popularity for having been featured as stunning backdrops in movies and TV shows. Sites in Northern Ireland in particular have benefitted from a surge in visitors since Game of Thrones began filming in the region.
