An Israeli minister has threatened Hamas leadership with “targeted elimination,” after the Islamist militant group released a video of top IDF officers in a sniper rifle crosshairs, ahead of the weekly ‘March of Return’ protests.
The IDF attack, which targeted a Hamas military compound, comes as retaliation for a breach of the border fence by a group of Palestinians, who allegedly brought improvised explosive devices into Israeli territory on Sunday.
The deaths during the 'Great Return' protest are the fault of Hamas, says the Israeli Prime Minister's media spokesman. According to him, Israel was only defending from an "onslaught" of Palestinians trying to cross the border.
The 'Great Return' protests are not just another protest by Palestinians against the Israeli occupation, they are a fresh start in the effort to reclaim the long-lost land, Mousa Abu Marzook from the Hamas politburo told RT.
Israeli Defense Force tanks have struck two Hamas observation stations in the northern Gaza Strip. The move was in retaliation for an arson attack near the security fence at a border crossing, the IDF said.
