Russia have made in to the final game of the Bandy World Cup in Kazan, getting the better of defending champs Sweden 3-2 in the semis.

The two powerhouses of the sport had already met in the preliminaries, with the home team coming out easy 5-2 winners. It turned out to be a lot tougher affair on Saturday. Russia led 3-1 after the first 45 minutes, with Mikhail Sveshnikov scoring twice. But the Swedes cut their lead to the minimum after the restart and pushed for the equalizer till the very end.  The Russians managed to hold their opponents off and will now face the winner of the clash between Finland and Kazakhstan in the final, scheduled for Sunday, January 30.
