Russia's Sports Ministry has focused its efforts on stepping up its game for the country's disabled athletes.

The ministry's head, Vitaly Mutko, was on hand to sign agreements with the Paralympic and Deaflympic associations in Moscow.

The ministry will be revamping the facilities for all national teams participating in global competition.

The paralympians earned the attention of the government by grabbing an overall medal win in Vancouver after the main Olympic team endured a historically embarrassing outing.

And with the 2014 Sochi Olympics drawing nearer, Sports Minister Mutko says there will be plenty of support for those set to represent team Russia.
