Ireland have been crowned the new Six Nations champions after claiming their first Grand Slam in 61 years. On Saturday, they beat Wales 17-15 at Cardiff to lift the trophy.
Trailing 6-0 at halftime, the Irish hit back with two converted tries.
First Brian O'Driscoll delivered the ball over the line, although it took a slow motion replay before the try was given. And then Tommy Bowe burst through. He grabbed a loose ball and ran between the posts. But it was a last minute dropped goal from Ronan o'Gara, which clinched the win – the first one since 1948.
Meanwhile, England beat Scotland 26-12 at Twickenham to claim the Calcutta Cup with tries from Monye, Flutey and Tait.
And it’s Italy who get the wooden spoon in this year’s tournament after finishing without a single win.
