Spanish football giants Real Madrid are set to pen a massive $1.8 billion, 12-year kit deal with sportswear giants Adidas, according to reports.
The Madrid club are set to renew their deal with the German company at the end of the season, and the new agreement will net the club up to a whopping €120 million ($135 million) per season over 12 years, Marca reports.
Adidas have sponsored 13-time European champions Real since 1998, and are set to extend that relationship with the German sportswear giants in a deal which will reportedly see the club benefit from 20 percent of sales related to their products as well as €9 million of material for their teams.
The adidas stable of clubs includes fellow giants of the European game such as Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Real’s La Liga rivals Barcelona are signed with US sportswear giants Nike on a deal that reportedly nets the Catalans around $130 million a season.
Real have endured a difficult season by their lofty standards, crashing out of the Champions League in the last 16 at the hands of Ajax, and sitting third in La Liga, a distant 13 points off Barca.
