Merseyside Police confirm that a video has been passed to a “relevant department” after a video emerged on Twitter apparently showing the Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah using his cell phone while driving.

“We have been made aware of a video believed to show a footballer using a mobile phone whilst driving. This has been passed to the relevant department. Thanks for letting us know,” the tweet from Merseyside Police Contact Centre read.
A spokesperson for the Premier League club stated that the club has alerted Merseyside Police following discussions with the player. Any follow-up disciplinary actions with the Egyptian player would be held “internally”, the club said.
The video appears to show Salah using his phone while in his car, which was surrounded by fans.
“The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture,” the spokesperson told liverpoolecho.co.uk.
"We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally. Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter.”

Salah scored a record 44 goals for Liverpool last season - his first for the club - following a transfer from Roma and his input was vital to Jurgen Klopp’s side’s journey to last season’s Champions League final where they were defeated 3-1 by Real Madrid.
