Croatian cabinet ministers held a session wearing national football shirts in Zagreb on Thursday, after the country's team reached their first-ever World Cup final, following a 2-1 victory over England the day before.

Luka Modric's men needed extra time to beat a spirited Three Lions team with a 109th minute winner from Mario Mandzukic after Kieran Trippier's early free kick was canceled out by Ivan Perisic in the second half.

To celebrate the unprecedented win, the entire Croatian cabinet swapped their usual formal dress for football jerseys during their session in the Croatian capital the following day.

The country's president, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, had previously displayed her patriotism through support for the football team by wearing a Croatia shirt while in the VIP box supporting Croatia in their quarterfinal win over hosts Russia in Sochi on Sunday.

She was followed in fashion by interior minister Davor Bozinovic, who wore the national team shirt to an EU meeting the day after his team became the smallest nation since 1950 to win a place in the World Cup final.

Bozinovic arrived for an informal meeting of EU Home Affairs Ministers in Innsbruck, Austria, wearing the famous red-and-white checkered shirt under his suit blazer.
