Swedish football icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a friendly wager with former England great David Beckham, offering to buy him dinner anywhere in the world if the Three Lions beat Sweden in the World Cup quarter-final.

However, if Sweden knock England out of the tournament, Beckham will have to buy the LA Galaxy star an item of his choice from the world-famous Swedish furniture company IKEA.

Yo @davidbeckham if @England wins I buy you dinner where ever you want in the world, but if Sweden wins you buy me what ever I want from @IKEASverige ok?” Ibrahimovic wrote on Instagram.

The bet was gladly accepted by the former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder, who changed the terms slightly by proposing that Ibrahimovic would have to “watch an England game at Wembley wearing an England shirt and enjoy fish & chips at half time” if his team loses on Saturday.

The 1966 World Cup winners England will face Sweden in Samara, where they will fight for a coveted place in the semi-finals.

Both football stars, Ibrahimovic and Beckham, wished the best of luck to their respective squads, sharing inspirational posts on social media ahead of the crucial quarter-final clash.

We are not like you. We are not you. We are Sweden!” Ibrahimovic wrote in a bid to inspire his former teammates, who haven’t reached the semi-final stages of the competition since 1994.

Meanwhile, Beckham urged the English players to “play with passion” in order to overcome their Swedish opponents.
