Wild celebrations in Paris as France book World Cup last 8 spot with win over Argentina (VIDEO)

French fans took to the streets of Paris to celebrate their team’s thrilling World Cup win against Argentina, which booked Les Bleus' place in the quarter-finals in Russia.

Teenager Kylian Mbappe scored a second-half double as his team came from behind to run out 4-3 winners.

After the game, raucous fans could be seen flooding onto the Paris streets, setting off flares and blowing whistles.

France opened the scoring in Kazan through a first-half penalty from Antoine Griezmann, before finding themselves 2-1 behind after a stunning goal from Angel Di Maria and a deflected finish from Gabriel Mercado.

Defender Benjamin Pavard produced a stunning volleyed equalizer to level the scores, before a quick-fire double from Mbappe, 19, in the 64th and 68th minutes gave France a two-goal cushion.

Substitute Sergio Aguero pulled an injury-time goal back for Argentina, but it was too little too late as Lionel Messi and Co. crashed out of the tournament.

With the victory, France set up a last 16 clash in Nizhny Novgorod with the winners of the Uruguay-Portugal last-16 match.

France are looking to add to their World Cup victory on home soil in 1998.
