Italia Thunder boxing team and Hammersmith Boxing Academy were attending the launch of the British Lionhearts boxing team Year 2 project at the House of Commons at the time of the terrorist attack.

Italia Thunder, who compete in the World Series of Boxing alongside British Lionhearts, released a statement on Instagram saying that despite being “were not far away” from the attack, “all are well” within their group.

"Not a good start the adventure in London. Although at the time of the incident some of the #ItaliaThunder boxers were not far away, we want to reassure you that all are well," the post, written in Italian, read.

The two teams are scheduled to face each other at iconic London boxing venue York Hall on Thursday and had held a weigh in today ahead of the fights.

Students from Hammersmith Boxing Academy, who offer boxing and coaching qualifications to students in London, were also present at the launch.

Press Association reporter Laura Harding described the House of Commons lobby as being "dominated by boxers in tracksuits" in a tweet posted soon after the attack.
