Ukraine bans KHL ice hockey TV channel for ‘national security reasons’

Ukraine has banned 15 Russian TV channels from being broadcasted via cablevision, including the Kontinental Hockey League's official TV channel.

The chairman of the Ukrainian National TV and Radio Council, Yuri Artemenko, said the decision was made according to a law on national security.

"On February 11th the Ukrainian National TV and Radio Council banned 15 Russian channels whose content doesn't meet the standards and laws of Ukraine and the conditions of the European Convention," an official statement reads.

As well as the official channel of the Kontinental Hockey League, KHL TV, the blacklist contains music, food, culture, and sports channels.
