Strength v confidence? Andrey Kortunov, director general of the Russian International Affairs Council

Big politics is still primarily the realm of alpha males, especially when it comes to interactions between Russia and the United States, which have thousands of nuclear-tipped rockets pointed at one another. But at this week’s bilateral summit in Geneva, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden seemed to have put macho politics aside and even agreed that they bear responsibility for managing the relationship between their countries.
