No woman’s land? Fawzia Koofi, member of the Afghan Parliament & women’s rights activist

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a surprise visit to Afghanistan this week, promising its government support in ending what he called “a 40-year crisis.” This year indeed marks the 40th anniversary of the socialist revolution in Afghanistan, which further exacerbated tensions between the USSR and the US in Central Asia; but is that really the starting point for Afghanistan’s current troubles? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Fawzia Koofi, member of the Afghan Parliament & women’s rights activist.
