The alleged chemical attack on a Damascus suburb has once again put the world on the brink of a major confrontation, and not just one. As Russia and the US have been repositioning their big guns, Israel seized the moment to strike what it called ‘Iranian assets’ in Syria. With so little respect for the country’s sovereignty, can Israel count on its interests being accommodated there?
