Kavanaugh unchartered waters & Shameless star Kearns on shameful events of the past (E248)

Once again, we are in unchartered waters with President Donald Trump. His decision, presumably conscious, to mock the Senate testimony of an alleged rape victim at a rally in Mississippi was a big gamble, apart from anything else, coming just weeks away from the midterm elections - which could be pivotal to his whole presidency.

President Trump is standing by his man Brett Kavanaugh at the moment when many people are wondering if his man should be up before a judge rather than being nominated to be a US Supreme Court judge.

So, what’s the consensus of those Republicans who reside inside and outside of America? We invited Jan Halper-Hayes of the US Republicans Abroad into the studio to find out.

To be a star of stage, screen and television is something to be, especially when being a working class antihero is what most people remember you as. Our guest this week is probably best known for his role as Ian Gallagher in Shameless, however he’s done a whole lot more and is currently appearing in “To Have To Shoot Irishmen” — a play inspired by the true murder of Irish pacifist Francis Sheehy Skeffington by a British soldier during the Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916. So, we invited Gerard Kearns into the studio to tell us more.
