‘Europe is a half-dead body’ – Timofey Bordachev. ‘We don’t need an inch of EU land’ – Sergey Karaganov

Europe is being shaken by a number of events and crises. That’s the main topic of this episode of RT’s Sanchez Effect on the sidelines of the Valdai 2026 forum. Ricks brings in two experts from the gathering – Sergey Karaganov, honorary chairman of the presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy, and Timofey Bordachev, a professor at Russia’s Higher School of Economics. Both think the EU’s days are numbered. Dr. Bordachev says it will be natural, as the bloc is a US puppet. Dr. Karaganov is more radical in his view, saying it should be finished off by Russia, by force, after decades of escalations against Moscow. They also talk about the Ukraine conflict and agree that there is no chance of survival for the Kiev regime. Dr. Karaganov has also served as a non-governmental adviser for Russia’s leadership, and he brings some insights on Vladimir Putin and other Russian and Soviet heads of state.
