Universal basic income is coming

The mayor of Stockton, California is pushing for a universal basic income program. The Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED) project aims to distribute $500 per month to the “most vulnerable” citizens, no strings attached. RT America’s Natasha Sweatte reports.

The fate of Haitian refugees

After the devastating 2010 earthquake, thousands of Haitians were allowed into the US with temporary protected status. However, DHS has announced that this status will come to an end on July 22, 2019. The NAACP reacted by filing a lawsuit to block the move, arguing that it discriminates against immigrants of color.
