Biden ends Iraq war, Medicare for All marches, Buffalo attacks socialist mayoral candidate

Joe Biden announced this week that combat operations in Iraq were over. Lee Camp looks back at all the times previous presidents made the same false declaration about the US’ extended illegal occupation of the Middle Eastern nation. Camp also reports on the Medicare for All marches that took place across the country last weekend, the boost being given to the military’s already-gargantuan budget, the sentencing of whistleblower Daniel Hale, and the latest in the Syrian chemical weapons saga.

Anders Lee has an update from Buffalo, New York. In June, India Walton, a democratic socialist, won the democratic primary for the mayoral race in the city. It’s only a month later and Buffalo’s business community already has multiple plans in place to undermine her. Naomi Karavani reports on the corruption-ridden sentencing of human rights and corporate malfeasance lawyer Steven Donziger, Nancy Pelosi’s statement against canceling student debt, and Israel fighting back against Ben & Jerry’s after the company decided to stop selling ice cream in Israeli settlements.
