As the war continues to rage and the death toll mounts, we hear from the Red Cross which says both sides in conflict have to negotiate so that desperately needed humanitarian aid can reach the area. Strong words from Beijing there as it slaps down Washington for meddling after the US congratulated the newly elected president of Taiwan - a staunch advocate for the island's independence.
