More than 1,200 Ukrainian troops are killed in a botched offensive ordered by President Zelensky in the country's south - according to Russia. The UN says 6 million Afghans are on the verge of famine as Washington refuses to release more than 3 billion dollars of Afghanistan's frozen assets.
