Moscow calls on Kiev to order its troops in a besieged steel factory in Mariupol to release any civilians and surrender. However, in the vicinity, scores of civilians have managed to flee through safe routes set up by Russia. A safe evacuation route for Ukrainian troops to surrender in Mariupol has gone unused as fierce fighting continues in the Azovstal industrial area, but another ceasefire regime is planned for later on Wednesday. A tense exchange at the UN Security Council, as the Russian ambassador says that while Western powers claim to be peacekeepers, they're really fueling the conflict with fresh supplies of weapons.
