The Kazakh president addresses the nation, claiming 20-thousand extremists attacked the country's biggest city, amid days of deadly anti-government unrest. He also thanked allies for sending in peacekeepers, per his request. Washington's skepticism comes despite the request having been made to a regional defense bloc - to which Kazakhstan belongs and which entitles members to call-in help. The British prime minister owns up that he failed to disclose revealing texts to a sleaze watchdog in which he asks a donor for funds to do up Downing Street, and hints at favors in return. Opponents say its stinks of corruption. A year on from the US Capitol Hill riots, the US seems more divided still with many outraged by vice-president Kamala Harris comparing the events of January 6 to the 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.
