Brexit split: Boris Johnson speaks only for England & Wales – Tommy Sheridan
Former Member of Scottish Parliament Tommy Sheridan joins Steve Malzberg (in for Scottie Nell Hughes) to discuss the possibility of an October Brexit and to offer his critique of new UK MP Boris Johnson. He emphasizes that Scotland and Northern Ireland voted against Brexit and only Wales and England voted in favor. Johnson thus “speaks for no one in Scotland and Northern Ireland.”
US, China to meet as Beijing considering digital currency
Chinese and US officials plan to meet in Shanghai on Tuesday for trade negotiations. President Trump declared the WTO “BROKEN” on Twitter and vowed to direct the USTR to keep countries like China and India from “CHEATING the system” by claiming the status of “developing countries.” Meanwhile, China has begun to post pro-Bitcoin information and has recognized it has a “commodity.” China’s central bank is working on a state digital currency of its own, according to reports.
