Trump tweets could scuttle US-China deal
President Trump took to Twitter on Sunday to attribute the improved US economy to tariffs against China and to threaten still more tariffs, causing markets to plunge. US intends to provoke Iran for Israel’s sake – fmr Pentagon official
The US is sending the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the Persian Gulf to “send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime.” National security advisor John Bolton announced the plan on Sunday and said it was in response to “provocations” from Iran although the deployment had been planned far earlier. US pressure makes Russian presence necessary – Venezuelan FM
Following days of clashes that failed to result in military support for the Venezuelan opposition – the US continues its campaign to push for the overthrow of President Nicolas Maduro despite increasingly vocal protestation from Russia.
