Pompeo prepares ‘noose for Maduro’s neck’
US State Secretary Mike Pompeo has once again called on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to open the country’s border to allow US humanitarian aid into the country. Touring Colombia, Pompeo denounced Cuba, Russia and China for their continued support of the Maduro government. Meanwhile, Venezuela’s former intelligence chief was arrested on a US drug warrant and is fighting extradition in Spain. He has publically switched his allegiance to opposition leader Juan Guaido, and US intelligence regards him as a potentially crucial asset. Sanctions are ‘siege warfare’ against weakest
Former US diplomat Jim Jatras joins RT America’s Scottie Nell Hughes to discuss Washington’s “pipe dream” of effecting regime change in Iran. He says that sanctions make the lives of ordinary people “as miserable as possible” so that the US can cynically point to conditions in the country and blame local government. Sanctions “hurt the weakest of a society every time.”
