Economic outlook: prolonged recession warning from the Fed, markets stabilize

With an unemployment rate that currently stands at 14-percent, this week more than 2.9 million people filed unemployment claims. This brings the total number of claims filed since March, up to 36.5 million. They point out that while the volatility in the markets appears to have stabilized, the Federal Reserve is still warning of a prolonged recession.
