Omicron grounds flights all across US; thousands stranded

The ongoing travel nightmare is being blamed on the new Omicron variant. A shortage of pilots, flight attendants and other aviation personnel—due to reported illness—is leading to mass flight cancellations. In the meantime many Americans are spending their holiday in long testing lines as President Biden starts to mobilize doctors and federal personnel to help out hospitals—again filling up with Covid patients. Then, Barak Lurie, an attorney and radio show host in Nevada weighs in.  Poland’s hardline, nationalist government led by President Andrzej Duda just vetoed a media bill in the country, that would have forced American television company—Discovery, to relinquish its controlling share of the Polish network TVN. Poland’s strict media laws aimed at limiting foreign influence—especially since TVN is much more critical of the government than other media accessible in the country.
