Biden defends Afghan troop pull out while requesting evacuation help

President Biden is standing firm on his decision to pull all combat troops from America’s longest war in Afghanistan. But critics on both sides of the aisle describe his move as hasty and ill-planned, resulting in chaotic scenes in the war torn nation. And as thousands of US citizens in Afghanistan still wait to be evacuated the Pentagon is now enlisting commercial airlines to step in. RT America’s Trinity Chavez has the story. (4:40) Then, former Pentagon official Michael Maloof shares his perspective. (8:30) Efforts are continuing in Kabul to evacuate any Afghan nationals before the August 31st deadline. As of Monday, only American and NATO citizens and US green card holders will be allowed through the Kabul airport gates. No further space has been allocated for any other Afghans who worked with foreign troops. Local journalist Shoib Najafizda gives us the latest.
