Why did Pelosi fumble after impeachment vote?

The US House of Representatives voted to approve articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump Wednesday night, but House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) was unclear to reporters on whether those articles would be sent to the Senate to kick off an impeachment hearing.
