Are Iran protests a US conspiracy?

Tehran has announced that at least eight individuals with ties to the CIA were arrested in Iran during the protests over a recent fuel hike. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei defended the price increases and described the unrest as orchestrated by “global arrogance," pointing his finger at the US.
