Colombia Cracks Down on Students & Assange’s Secret Indictment Exposed

Anya Parampil reports on student protests in Colombia which have turned violent after infiltrators joined the demonstrations, instigating escalation with police. Christian Polo, Spokesperson for Universidad de Colombia, joins Anya to break down the student’s demands, saying he believes the events would receive more international coverage if they took place in Venezuela, as opposed to a NATO member and US ally. Later, Anya explains how a court filing error made by the Justice Department reveals the US is preparing to charge Wikileaks founder Julian Assange with a secret indictment. Former member of UK Parliament, George Galloway, joins Anya to discuss the repercussions Assange’s prosecution would have on US media.
