Spitsbergen: The long dark night

RT explores life on Spitsbergen as the long Arctic night falls on the island. We get a chance to take a peek at the lives of the people who choose to come to Spitsbergen and their efforts to settle on this unique island, where deer wonder freely on the streets, guns can be bought freely, and only two countries currently maintain a presence: Russia and Norway. On the island of Spitsbergen, where locals say that there are three, not four seasons: day, night and snowmobile season, there are not so many opportunities for active social life - the annual sports competition becomes the main event of the season.
