Family Tales: The more, the merrier
Cossack Dmitry Cherniavsky returns from the SMO, where he served in the ‘Terek’ battalion. His wife Larisa, three daughters, and three sons are waiting for him at home in Arsenyevo, near Vladivostok. Dmitry also runs a Cossack class at the local school, where he teaches children military skills, as well as the importance of faith and honor.
Salman from Dagestan has ten children. He is building a large house, divided into three parts – one for himself, one for his parents, and one for his eldest son. While the daughters manage the household, the sons help Salman with the construction, learning to work and support each other.
The Semashkin family lives in Kamchatka: Andrei, Anastasia, and their nine kids. They also have 140 dogs. The Semashkins are involved in sled dog breeding and take part in the ‘Beringia’ sled dog race. The whole family is involved in the shared endeavor. In the evenings, everyone traditionally gathers to thank God for the past day.
These families live in different corners of Russia, practise different faiths, and preserve different traditions. But in each of them, everyone learns about work, responsibility, and caring for others. They demonstrate that true strength lies in loyalty and love for one's family.
