Religious wars seemed long gone, but in the 21st century, persecution on the basis of religion is once again a reality. The Orthodox Church, which has a long history and huge number of believers, was condemned as pro-Russian in Ukraine. Orthodox Christians are attacked, imprisoned, and even killed all over the country. “The Ukrainians are shelling Orthodox Churches,” Spas TV special correspondent Aleksandr Egortsev says.
