Zembla: Down the drain

Zembla: Down the drain

An investigative documentary about the international trade of cheap labor. Since 2000 (the opening of the European borders) numerous temporary job agencies have thrived. Workers from countries like Poland and Portugal are employed in richer EU states and forced to accept low wages with poor terms of employment. For example, Irish recruitment company Atlanco Rimec is one of the biggest suppliers of cheap workers on the European Market, making huge profits by exploiting its employees. Workers are not comfortable to speak out because they are afraid to lose their jobs.
