A new Iran, Black budget waste, Immigration hate speech
On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks to Trita Parsi, executive director of the National Iranian-American Council, about Iran’s recent elections and the future of Iran’s relationship with the West under its new reformist leadership. Abby then talks to BTS producer Manuel Rapalo about the Pentagon’s black budget and its secretive use of taxpayer funds, and a few of the most wasteful projects it has pursued. BTS wraps up the show with a look at the recent Senate immigration compromise, which aims to further militarize America’s southern border, and Abby calls out several public figures and politicians who have turned rhetoric into hate speech.
