Guns: Trafficking Deadly commodities, standardized boycott, & press freedom day

Abby Martin talks to Kathi Lynn Austin, executive director of the Conflict Awareness Project, about the global arms trade, the UN’s International Arms Trade Treaty, and the need for higher international standards of regulation of these deadly commodities. Then Cynthia Copeland, educator and parent, talks about the growing resistance against standardized testing, highlighting examples of boycotts and walk-outs of statewide standardized tests. Finally, we commemorate World Press Freedom Day by pointing out the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, and emphasizing the importance of the fourth estate for a healthy democracy.
