US jobless claims jump on virus surge
Jobless claims in the US are up for the first time in months as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to surge in some parts of the country. Meanwhile, as the novel coronavirus relief package is set to expire at the end of July, Senate Republicans have announced an agreement with the White House on what should be included in the next round of funding. With the jump in Covid-19 cases, several nations have barred US travelers from entering their borders. Plus, as airline and aviation stocks have taken a beating in the wake of the virus, Boeing is inching closer to the comeback of its 737 MAX jets re-certified by the FAA. In space news, several countries are launching missions to Mars this summer, and China may be taking the lead, announcing the successful launch of its efforts. If all goes well, the mission could be groundbreaking.
