6.6 million Americans file jobless claims

US jobless claims doubled in just a week, breaking the previous record, with 6.6 million people filing for unemployment benefits for the week ending March 28. However, US equity markets are up. The bounce is mostly attributed to a stabilization in oil markets. The US has more cases of coronavirus than anywhere else in the world (more than 200,000) and over 5,000 deaths. How well prepared are the healthcare system and Medicare?
