How’s US economy doing? With Tim Duy & Dean Baker

US retail sales rose 0.5 percent last month, beating expectations of 0.4 percent and the biggest increase since August - and falling oil prices have played into this in a big way! Erin takes a look. Tim Duy, professor of economics at the University of Oregon, gives his take on whether middle class Americans are better off now than they were 20 years ago. Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, tells why he thinks nominal wage gains have been so weak and gives his take on consumer debt issues, especially mortgages and student debt.
