Long Covid – the epidemic within the epidemic
With the vaccination program getting to grips with the pandemic, more attention is now being focused on the phenomenon of Long Covid, the enduring and debilitating aftermath affecting many Covid patients. Alex interviews Professor Danny Altmann of Imperial College London and Dr Nathalie MacDermott of King’s College, London, about this “epidemic within the epidemic.” Dr MacDermott, an infectious disease specialist, who has experience of working with Ebola epidemics in Africa, is herself a Long Covid patient and campaigner.
