Ukrainian kamikaze drone hits apartment block in Russia (VIDEO)

At least one person was reportedly killed in the attack in Kursk Region

A Ukrainian drone struck an apartment building in Kursk, western Russia in the early hours of Tuesday, according to reports on Telegram.

One person was killed and at least nine people were wounded in a “massive” UAV attack on the city, according to Mash news channel.

The drones reportedly damaged five residential buildings.

In one instance, a kamikaze drone blew a large hole in the building’s facade, destroying several rooms, videos from the scene show.

Witnesses reported hearing around 40 explosions after the attack began, according to Mash.

Kursk Region Governor Aleksandr Khinshteyn earlier stated that Ukrainian forces continued artillery and drone attacks on border villages, killing five civilians on Monday.

Ukrainian forces crossed Russia’s internationally recognized border in Kursk Region in August, capturing Sudzha – a town with a pre-conflict population of 5,000 – as well as dozens of surrounding villages.

Moscow has since retaken most of the territory, including Sudzha. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, Ukrainian troops executed civilians in several villages during the occupation.
