International rules-based order scion dating Russell Brand’s ex

US pop singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have confirmed their long-rumored relationship by posting joint photos and videos on social media. The posts show the pair together in several settings in Japan, ending speculation that had been building for months.
Trudeau resigned as leader of the Liberal Party in January and stepped down as prime minister in March, ending his nine-year tenure. He has long courted controversy, from domestic scandals to foreign‑policy posturing.
In 2023, Trudeau had to apologize after the Canadian Parliament honored a Ukrainian veteran who had served in a Nazi-affiliated unit during World War II – an incident that drew significant domestic and international criticism. While condemning the mistake, Trudeau also used the moment to reiterate his broader criticisms of Russia, despite the widely recognized role that Soviet soldiers played in defeating Nazi Germany. Earlier this year, the politician again emphasized his aggressive stance toward Moscow, arguing that Kiev is “fighting to protect the rules-based order that keeps us all safe around the world.”
On Saturday, Perry shared photos and videos of herself and Trudeau posing together and eating sushi while in Japan for her world tour. The post came three days after former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida posted a photo of the couple on X, referring to Perry as Trudeau’s partner.
Since first being seen together in July, Perry and Trudeau have appeared publicly several times, including dining in Montreal, having drinks at a bar Trudeau frequents, and attending her Montreal concert with his daughter.
Earlier this year, Perry announced her separation from actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she has a daughter. She was previously married to English comedian and actor Russell Brand for two years. Similarly, in the summer of 2023, Trudeau ended his 20-year marriage with Sophie Gregoire, with whom he shares three children.
