The connection is poor due to the Israeli restrictions placed on the West Bank. As Barghouti explained himself, the ‘military occupation’ creates a ‘prison like situation’ for all Palestinians living there. The Palestinian politician describes the Israeli regime as ‘apartheid’, as Israel can freely kill any Palestinian without any consequences. Barghouti calls himself a man of peace who pushes for change through reform, despite that he says he was wounded nine times by the IDF during non-violent demonstrations.
