The most sanctioned region: Rick Sanchez visits Russia’s Black Sea stronghold, Crimea

In the latest episode of Sanchez Effect, Rick travels through the beautiful and strategically important cities of Crimea, the pearl of the Black Sea.

Residents voted for the peninsula to join Russia over a decade ago. Since then, it has become a thorn in the side of the collective West. That’s despite the fact it previously united the Soviet Union and Western powers in planning a more prosperous future towards the end of World War Two, at the 1945 Yalta Conference.

Rick speaks with Crimea Governor Sergey Aksyonov and locals to hear their thoughts on the current conflict and their views on Russia and Ukraine. Don’t miss it – only on RT!

The most sanctioned region: Rick Sanchez visits Russia’s Black Sea stronghold, Crimea
Sanchez Effect is a journalistic rebellion. RT’s flagship program is led by Rick Sanchez, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning newsman who’s made a career out of defying the status quo. “When only one side of a story is permitted, that’s when I push harder. If Moscow is deemed off-limits, it’s precisely where I want to be. Because more often than not, truth resides in the places we’re told not to look.”
